All members of the bargaining unit, all FSU Graduate Assistants (research and teaching assistants), are eligible to vote.
Please bring a photo ID to the polls.

Collective Bargaining Agreement Summary
2010-2013
UFF-FSU-GAU and the FSU-Board of Trustees have reached an agreement on the first legally-binding employment contract for all FSU graduate employees. Many important gains have been secured for thousands of academic professionals teaching classes and conducting cutting edge research at FSU. Art 1 Appointment
Recognizes UFF-FSU-GAU as the exclusive bargaining representative for graduate assistants at FSU.
Art 2 Appointment
Requires a letter of appointment with specific information.
Defines conditions under which an appointment may be changed or terminated.
Article 3 - Employment Performance Evaluation
Specifies the procedures, observations and criteria for evaluating GA performance.
Article 4 Employee Evaluation File
Specifies one GA file located in the department and the use of the file.
Article 5 Academic Freedom
Defines academic freedom and responsibility.
Article 6 Workload
Defines hours of work based on FTE appointment.
Ten (10) hours per week for 0.25 FTE appointment
Thirteen and one-third (13.3) hours per week for 0.33 FTE appointment
Twenty (20) hours per week for 0.5 FTE appointment
Thirty (30) hours per week for 0.75 FTE appointment
Hours worked each week may fluctuate based demands of work.
Article 7 Outside Activity/Conflict of Interest
Requires graduate employees to report outside activity which may create a conflict of interest with the University.
Art 8 Nondiscrimination
Defines unlawful discrimination as per the June FSU- BOT policy.
Article 9 Copyrights and Patents
Adopts the 2008 Faculty Handbook policies and procedures pertaining to copyrights and patents.
Art 10 Leaves
Establishes leaves of absence and UFF release time.
Article 11 Grievance Procedure and Arbitration
Establishes a grievance procedure that ends with binding arbitration.
Art 12 Tuition waivers
Establishes tuition waivers for GAs who are employed for at least 0.25 FTE.
Art 13 Board Rights
The FSU-BOT retains all rights, powers and authority subject to the limitations expressed in the agreement.
Art 14 Use of Facilities
Provides UFF access to University facilities, bulletin boards and office space.
Art 15 Union deductions
The FSU-BOT will deduct and process UFF dues deductions.

Article 24 Consultation
Establishes the right of UFF to meet with the University President or designee once per semester. Also establishes the right of UFF to meet with the Dean of the Graduate School for special consultation.
MOU on deferred fees payment
No cancellation of classes for GAs whose only debts to the University are their Group Fees for the current semester.
